First Siege – 1813

May 27 @ 9:00 AM - May 28 @ 5:00 PM

In the spring of 1813, the American position at Fort Meigs came under attack from British and Allied American Indian Armies.  This event commemorates the dramatic nine day siege which defended Ohio in the War of 1812.

First Siege – 1813 is a two-day encampment and reenactment within the 10 acre restored fort in Perrysburg, Ohio. The daytime offerings feature dress parades, skirmishes, tactical engagements, lectures, period military music, and a variety of skills and trades.  British and American regulars combined with State and Canadian militia make for a colorful pageant of military history on the Ohio frontier.
