Siege of Fort Boonesborough

September 19 - September 20

This is a reenactment of the Siege of Fort Boonesborough from 1778. The Fort founded by Daniel Boone in April 1775 was attacked in September 1778 by a party of over 400 Native Americans of mixed tribes supported by British officers. This multi day siege failed and the fort survived. We have Saturday and Sunday battle re-enactments at 2:00pm.  Come early and spend the day learning about 18th century life in Kentucky. Visit a Living History Event including militia, Native Americans and settlers’ camps, traders, learn to throw a tomahawk, food, music and more. Visit the 18th century Transylvania Store. All public parking, with free shuttles, is in the KY388 parking lot across from the main picnic entrance.
