Explore Virginia’s frontier through the eyes of a child. Visit with the men of Martin’s company as they immerse you in the life of a frontier soldier. Interact with historic craftsmen and learn about the life and work of the young apprentice. Culminate your visit with games and hands on opportunities that will serve as a reminder of the people that called the west their home.
About National Kids to Parks Day
Virginia State Parks celebrates National Kids to Parks Day on the third Saturday in May by offering a variety of fun, family-friendly activities, from nature scavenger hunts and ranger-led hikes to fishing clinics and flora and fauna wagon rides. This annual event encourages kids to explore the outdoors while learning about wildlife and engaging in hands-on environmental education.
