Personal Appearance by David Rittenhouse as he surveys the Maryland / Pennsylvania border in 1784

We often remember David Rittenhouse as a scientist and founder of the mint but he was also America’s premier authority on geography and surveying.  Come to the Jonathan Hager House Museum and discuss how Mason and Dixon abandoned their famous line and Rittenhouse and Ellicott finished it settling a long standing land dispute between Maryland and Pennsylvania.
