DESCRIPTION:Discover what life was like at Fort Loudoun\, the western most point of the British Empire during the French and Indian War\, as reenactors bring the fort back to life. \nSee soldiers and Cherokee going about their day\, training\, firing cannons\, working about the fort\, and demonstrating professions of the time. There will be blacksmiths working the forge\, a surgeon in the infirmary\, and soldiers living in the barracks. Be sure to visit the Cherokee at Tuskegee located outside the fort gates. Bring the family to learn about life on the frontier and how the British and Cherokee worked together against the French. \nThe Fort will be open from 10:00 AM-5:00 PM on Saturday\, and 10:00 AM-2:00 PM on Sunday. \nFor more information please call the park office at (423) 420-2331.

SUMMARY:18th Century Christmas
DESCRIPTION:Bring in the holiday season and celebrate Christmas as soldiers did during the French and Indian War. Throughout the day demonstrations will be taking place\, such as cooking\, laundering\, blacksmithing\, and artillery drills. There is also a Christmas church service with Parson John and wassail tasting. Be sure to step into the infirmary\, compare a soldier’s barrack to the commander’s quarters\, and stop by the Cherokee encampment. The evening portion begins at the Visitor’s Center at 6:00 P.M. and includes a candlelight tour of the fort and a rare night firing of the canon. \nDaytime hours: 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. \nCandlelight tour: 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
