Tickets will be available online at\, the  Fort Meigs Association Store.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis event is not appropriate for children age 5 and under.\nDoors open at 6:30pm. Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your tour time. Tours leave promptly every 15 minutes.\nTour lasts approximately 90 minutes\nDress for the weather! Ghost Walk takes place outdoors\, rain or shine\, and over varying terrain. If severe weather develops\, the event may be postponed or cancelled. SUMMARY:Talk on Importance of Taverns in Colonial America
DESCRIPTION:The Importance of Taverns in America – The Tavern Act ensured that public houses were constructed along England’s (and her colony’s) major highways and at her ports. This was done principally to support commerce but since these were often the largest and most accessible buildings in many communities\, taverns took a major role in keeping communities together\, sharing news\, and ensuring that the government functioned. Taverns hosted militia musters\, court proceedings\, polls\, and post offices. The tavern was where people gathered to share news and engage in trade. These institutions were far more than just bars and hotels\, they were the heart of many communities\, second only to the church. The Admiral of the Blue Apron discusses how the tavern was instrumental in both preventing anarchy and driving revolution in the American colonies.

The Feast represents the time of homecoming\, feasting\, dancing and celebrating from the earliest days of historic Fort Ouiatenon (1717-1791)\, the first fortified European settlement in Indiana. Advance ticket information will be posted by 7/1/26 at www.feastofthehuntersmoon.org\nOver 40 different recreated period foods will put the “feast” in the Feast! Food booths are run by area non-profit organizations as fundraisers for their worthy community projects. Seven different arenas and stages plus numerous locations on the 30 acres of festival grounds feature outstanding performances by musicians\, interpreters\, military re-enactors and Native American groups.

DESCRIPTION:Held in conjunction with the Ashville Viking Festival\, this event spans all history. All eras are accepted. From the legions of ancient Rome to the colorful mercenaries of the Holy Roman Empire and beyond\, history awaits. Our reenactors look forward to explaining life throughout the ages. Visit our Grove of Heroes and learn how weapons developed and what maneuvers carry forward to today’s soldiers. Discover what foods were eaten\, how medicine and clothes developed\, and what people did for fun. The encampment is adjacent to the Saxon Market which features shopping\, food\, and entertainment. SUMMARY:“A Walk in Their Boots” Military Timeline – Living History event
DESCRIPTION:Our “A Walk in Their Boots” Living History Group has another exciting Military Timeline event planned for our 3rd year at Camp Davy Crockett in 2026! This event showcases an extensive array of military and civilian displays from various historical periods. The event will feature military encampments\, equipment\, weapons\, vehicles\, and more. Throughout the day\, attendees can witness weapons demonstrations and battle reenactments\, as well as military vehicles on parade. This year’s event will once again showcase several armored vehicles\, including a World War II German “Tiger” tank\, Cold War era British “Scorpion” tank\, and “Abbott” Self-Propelled Gun. Additionally\, a US Vietnam War era “Gun Truck” known as the “Ace of Spades”\, WWII US M 20 and Cold War era British “Ferret” Armored Cars\, multiple jeeps\, military trucks\, motorcycles\, and other vehicles will be on display. These machines are truly remarkable and witnessing them in action is an astounding experience. As always\, the event is free and open to the public. We cordially invite you to attend and step back through history to experience a day in the life of a soldier in the field!
