SUMMARY:A River Thru History Rendezvous
DESCRIPTION:Take a voyage back in time to the fur trade era before Chicago became a city. \nNew and returning reenactors are welcome to camp on the beautiful banks of the Des Plaines\,\nthe actual river on which Marquette and Joliet traveled in 1673\, as they paddled up river\ntowards present day Chicago. This is a call for additional Military and Native American reenactors. \nWe will reimburse powder used at the event. \nMeet DuSable\, often called Chicago’s first resident\, along with voyageurs\, craftsmen\,\nmusicians and entertainers\, as they gather for this annual early American celebration.\nCome to the children’s trading post\, see wolves and live animals\, and experience frontier\nfood\, storytelling\, Native American and French games\, a skillet toss\, fire starting contest\,\na fashion show\, tomahawk throwing\, and even more fun for the whole family. \nSaturday 10am-5pm\, Sunday 10am-4pm.
