SUMMARY:M20CW-Soldiers Thru Time-Living History Timeline event
DESCRIPTION:The Museum of 20th Century Warfare and Ft. Harrison State Park will be hosting “Soldiers Thru Time” at the park . Visitors will see camps and displays set-up by re-enactors from many different time periods. Living historians spanning 2500 years of military history will be wearing clothing and uniforms from their chosen time period or conflict and have equipment and weapons to show and describe. Presently we have impressions of Greek Hoplite\, Roman Legionary\, Mongol Light Calvary\, Revolutionary War\, American Civil War\, Spanish-American War\, World War One\, World War Two\, the Cold War period and the Vietnam War taking part. \nThe event will be open from 10 AM to 4 PM on Saturday and Sunday\, April 30-May 1. There is no battle re-enactment for this event and visitors may roam the Historic Camp Glenn Area where the camps and displays will be positioned. The Museum of 20th Century Warfare’s battlefield trench system will be available for walking through. There is no extra fee for this event however normal Indiana State Park gate fees do apply. For GPS directions use 5900 Post Road for the address. This will bring you to the front gate of the park. \nReenactors should go to Evenbrite and search for M20CW to register for this event.  There is no fee for reenactors.

DESCRIPTION:The Richland Early American Center for History invites you to discover life in early America during the 18th and 19th Century from living historical reenactors. Throughout the day there will be crafts\, trades\, demonstrations\, and activities\, including Blacksmithing\, Games and Children’s Activities\, Open Hearth Cooking Demonstrations\, and Civilian and Military Reenactments.  Grounds feature the 1808 log cabin with Rumford fireplace and baking oven\, an original 1812 Blockhouse\, and a late 18th/early 19th-century blacksmith/woodworking shop.  Public hours 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.\nAdmission and parking are free to public.\n**Food Truck will be on site for our event for visitors.\nFor Re-enactors:\nSet up Thursday\, June 9th in evening or Friday\, June 10th. We will have water\, wood\, restroom facilities\, and a food truck will be on site for Friday\, Saturday\, & Sunday. Dance Saturday evening with period musicians. DESCRIPTION:July 25 – 30: Pioneer Life Week: 30th Anniversary! During a week dedicated to the Revolutionary War\, The War of 1812 and the settlement of lands around the Ohio River\, re-enactors\, and other special programs bring this rich heritage back to life. The pioneer camp is open from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday – Saturday. Programs featured throughout the week including tomahawk throwing\, black powder rifle demonstrations\, spinning and weaving demonstrations\, primitive fire making\, pioneer clothing interpretation and other living history skill demonstrations. \nReenactors/Demonstrators are invited to participate. \nInterested reenactor/demonstrators please contact Paul Tierney @ 606-286-7009 OR email at paul.tierney@ky.gov \nMany camp in the pioneer encampment all week\, but there may be some availability for electric hookup sites if interested. Advanced reservation is required\, standard rates apply to modern campsites. \nLimited space is available. \nThis is a week long camp. Wood\, water\, ice\, porta-jon’s and showers available to campers at no charge. General public visit camp Monday through Saturday 10 am to 6 pm. \nCamp feast Saturday evening. SUMMARY:Compass Inn Museum August Living History: Proctor's Independent Battalion
DESCRIPTION:Journey back in time and visit with the soldiers and camp followers of the present-day Proctor’s. They portray the riflemen of the very first American Troops west of the Allegheny Mountains. In the mid-1700s\, the ‘Wild West’ wasn’t as west as one would think. The Laurel Highlands separated the early Pennsylvania colony from the wild frontier. This western border had to be protected from Native and British attacks. Proctor’s\, named after John Proctor\, the Sheriff of Westmoreland County\, was formed and tasked with protecting this frontier border. \nToday\, Proctor’s is brought back to life as the Independent Battalion\, Westmoreland County\, Pennsylvania. This American Revolutionary War Reenactment Unit portrays frontier and military life in Southwestern Pennsylvania during the late 18th Century. Proctor’s will set up camp on Compass Inn Museum’s historic grounds and give demonstrations. Musket and cannon firing demonstrations will be performed daily. \nThe men and women of Proctor’s will depict the lives of camp followers\, midwives\, surgeons\, and leather workers. Camp followers were typically the thousands of wives and girlfriends of soldiers who had to prove their worth to the unit and were subject to military discipline just like the soldiers. Required to be of good character and productive members of the unit\, these camp followers were vital to the function of the army by performing a variety of tasks\, including laundry\, sewing\, tending cattle\, and other odd jobs. \nThe Living History Weekend includes tours of the historic Compass Inn and outbuildings\, as well as cooking and blacksmithing demonstrations\, at no extra charge. \nGeneral admission is $14 for adults\, $12 for seniors (62+)\, $8 for youth (6-18)\, and free for children 5 & younger. DESCRIPTION:The Richland Early American Center for History invites you to discover life in early America during the 18th and 19th Century from living historical reenactors. Throughout the day there will be crafts\, trades\, demonstrations\, and activities\, including Blacksmithing\, Games and Children’s Activities\, Open Hearth Cooking Demonstrations\, and Civilian and Military Reenactments.  Grounds feature the 1808 log cabin with Rumford fireplace and baking oven\, an original 1812 Blockhouse\, and a late 18th/early 19th-century blacksmith/woodworking shop.  Public hours 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.\nAdmission and parking are free to public.\n**Food Truck will be on site for our event for visitors and re-enactors.\n***Friday\, September 30th is “Food Truck Friday” for townspeople as they watch the official opening and camp set up.\nFor Re-enactors:\nSet up Thursday\, September 29th in evening or Friday\, September 29th. DESCRIPTION:EVENT UPDATE FOR APRIL 2023 DATE: \nThe event coordinator and the board have decided to postpone this year’s April 21-23 event in Lewis because of needing more time to prepare the grounds. We will be on the grounds on April 22 &23 for work days and anyone wanting to see the grounds is more than welcome to come out and walk around. \nWe will keep the same weekend in April for 2024. \nA new living history encampment on a beautiful pine forest property.  Trails through the pines open up to large areas for several camps as one travels down the trails. This is an 80 acre private park. The event\, for its first year\, has access to 50 acres. Time period is 1750-1815. So we will cover F&I\, Rev. war and Regency time periods.

SUMMARY:Grassy Run Heritage Rendezvous
DESCRIPTION:April 2023 is once again the time for the annual Grassy Run Heritage Rendezvous at the historic Cook Log Cabin Heritage Center. This is a pre-1840 historical encampment. The cabin will be open and a period blacksmith shop will be operating.  The main camp will be on the grounds of Goshen High School\, with access from their parking lot.  Friday is school day with public days on Saturday and Sunday with a small admission fee charged.  Numerous demonstrators and vendors of period crafts and skills used by the pioneers who settled this area will be present. Period interpreters will also talk about their experiences during that time. Wood and water will be provided for campers and vendors.  Port-o-lets will be available for all to use. DESCRIPTION:Hosted by the Museum of 20th Century Warfare in Fort Harrison State Park \nThis is our our yearly timeline event where we feature various era’s of military in different areas of Historic Camp Glenn near the museum. We encourage diverse military impressions to give our visitors exposure to soldiers from all periods of time.  We will have camps or locations for 1400/1500’s\, 1700’s\, Napoleonic\, American Civil War\, Span-Am\, The Great War\, WW2\, Korea\, Cold War (1950-1992)\, and Vietnam. \nWe will provide camping area\, firewood (let us know ahead of time)\, indoor latrines and a Saturday evening meal.  We will have a building (701) for those not camping (heated building\, bare floor\, bathrooms).  In case of rain\, you can move into buildings 701 & 702 and set up displays   Check-in opens at noon Friday\, May 5 in the museum library. Please check in before setting up camp so we can get you in the appropriate location. \nOperation hours are Saturday 1000 to 1600 and Sunday 1000 to 1500.  No weapons (blank fire only and coordinate with museum staff before hand) fire before 10 AM or after 4 PM.  Don’t have an impression? We are needing volunteers to fill out the timeline and have clothing & weapons to suit up a Greek Hoplite\, Roman Legionnaire and we’re needing a WWI trench escort(to guide our visitors ). \nNote: No livestock(chickens\, rabbits\, pigs etc) except horses should be brought in the park. Dogs should be on 6′ leashes. \n

SUMMARY:First Siege - 1813
DESCRIPTION:In the spring of 1813\, the American position at Fort Meigs came under attack from British and Allied American Indian Armies.  This event commemorates the dramatic nine day siege which defended Ohio in the War of 1812. \nFirst Siege – 1813 is a two-day encampment and reenactment within the 10 acre restored fort in Perrysburg\, Ohio. The daytime offerings feature dress parades\, skirmishes\, tactical engagements\, lectures\, period military music\, and a variety of skills and trades.  British and American regulars combined with State and Canadian militia make for a colorful pageant of military history on the Ohio frontier.

SUMMARY:Spring Gathering – 2nd Annual Colonial Days at South Park
DESCRIPTION:The Richland Early American Center for History invites you to discover life in early America during the 18th and 19th Century from living historical reenactors. Throughout the day there will be crafts\, trades\, demonstrations\, and activities\, including Blacksmithing\, Games and Children’s Activities\, Open Hearth Cooking Demonstrations\, and Civilian and Military Reenactments.  Grounds feature the 1808 log cabin with Rumford fireplace and baking oven\, an original 1812 Blockhouse\, and a late 18th/early 19th-century blacksmith/woodworking shop.  Public hours 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. \nAdmission and parking are free to public. \n**Food Truck will be on site for our event for visitors. \nFor Re-enactors:\nSet up Thursday\, June 8th in evening or Friday\, June 9th. We will have water\, wood\, restroom facilities\, and a food truck will be on site for Saturday\, & Sunday. Dance Saturday evening with period musicians. Camp breakfast for Saturday and Sunday before the event. Details will be given upon arrival. No camp fees. No merchant fees. Take down camp Sunday evening or Monday.

Families and children welcome. \n  \nWe will be located at the end of George Road\, off of Highway 507\, 1/2 mile southwest of Yelm\, WA. \nTo Encampment: From SR 507\, turn west on George RD SE\, and continue to the end of the road. Pavement ends after about ½ mile\, continue on gravel to end of road. There will be signs along the way. \n  \nWe are a 501(c)3 Living History Association registered in the state of Washington. We are dedicated to presenting and educating about the American Revolution (or American War for Independence\, depending on your rebel or loyalist leanings!).
