SUMMARY:Painted Stone Settlers Long Run Massacre
DESCRIPTION:Living History Event in Shelbyville KY. The Long Run Massacre was a skirmish between Squire Boone’s settlers from his Painted Stone Station and a group of Miami & Shawnee Indians. Settlers were fleeing to a more populated station and were attacked mid-route. Actual historical event occurred September 13\, 1781. Friday is school day for over 800 children. Saturday is re-enactment day (at 2 PM) with event open 10-5. Afterhours catered dinner for re-enactors at 6 pm. Concludes with church service on Sunday morning 10 AM and camp breakdown.
